Ryan’s TTC Appreciation Podcast

All right, we are here to launch Ryan’s TTC appreciation podcast.

Say hi, Ryan.

Hello.

All right.

Let me start off with a couple of questions.

Ready?

Okay.

When did you decide that you really, really, really, really, really liked trains?

At 216, that we’re going to live next to a train.

Okay.

So like I was getting excited about it.

And at 216, I asked if there’s no train stations in Cabbage Town.

So we needed to take a slow, slow, slow bus to a fast train castle flag station.

Yep.

But now I can actually go fast just a five minute walk.

And you get to?

Greenwood station.

Right.

Okay.

And okay, so what do you like about the trains?

Trains are known to TTC.

Mostly when I already just went to Canada, I know about the TTC because they’re everywhere.

Buses, streetcars, trains, and all the others.

Trains.

Transwheels.

Transwheels also.

Yeah.

Okay.

And your favorite is the trains, I guess.

Yeah.

Or do you like the streetcars?

Trains.

Okay.

And what does your brother call the streetcars?

Street trains.

Oh, yeah.

They call them street trains.

It does make sense.

It’s basically just a train, but the rails are designed differently for cars can go on the track and not like making a bumpy, bumpy trip.

Right, right, right.

Do you like the streetcar?

Yeah.

But you like the trains more?

Yeah.

Okay.

All right.

And so what station do you want to talk about today?

Let’s talk about stations.

Which is your favorite station that you’ve been to so far?

I want to say Union.

Union.

You like Union a lot, do you?

Yeah, a lot.

Okay.

What do you like about Union?

It’s just that it’s very big.

Actually, I like Dundas because Dundas, there’s a whole mall connected to it.

Oh, okay.

Okay.

Well, I mean, Union has got like…

Actually, Union.

Yeah.

That’s a whole station, which has lots of trains.

What does it have?

What other trains does Union have?

VL Rails, Apex Express, GO trains.

That’s right.

That’s right.

Where does the Apex Express go to?

Airport.

To the airport.

Yeah.

Straight to the airport.

Have you been on the Apex Express?

No, I didn’t.

Okay.

Do you want to go one day?

Yeah.

Okay.

We can try the Apex Express one day.

But you’ve been on the GO train, right?

Yeah.

Where did we go?

Rouge Hill.

Rouge Hill.

That’s right.

Even though it’s been a few months since we went, you still remember that train station.

Yeah.

Yeah?

Okay.

What did you like about that train?

It’s cool about when the gas trains are at the front, it’s really loud, but at the back, it’s like so quiet.

Okay.

And did you like the size of it?

Like the speed?

It is massive.

Yeah.

Double-decker as well, huh?

Which I think five, four, maybe.

I think four, yeah.

Four carriages?

I think it’s more than four carriages.

No, I mean four floors.

No, it’s only two floors.

Two floors?

Two floors.

You had the ground floor and then you went up some stairs and you got to the second floor.

I say it is a really, really, really long train.

Long train, yeah?

So it could be more than ten.

And you can bring your bike on there, right?

Yeah.

Okay.

I just know that in a part of a train, don’t bring e-bikes because I heard there’s once a fire on a train because someone brought an e-bike.

Brought an e-bike, did they?

Yeah.

Okay, all right.

Cool.

Only regular bikes are really good because they’re not electric and stuff.

I like electric bikes.

They’re good.

Yeah, but on trains they’re not good.

You’re right.

On trains they’re not so good.

Yeah.

Electric bikes, I wish I had one.

All right, man.

Let’s sign it off.

Say bye, Brian.

Bye-bye.

Talk soon.

Talk soon.

Next video, I think line two or line three.

Line two or line three.

We can talk about that.

And then we’ll also talk about the Ontario line.

Yeah.

And line five.

Yeah.

And I think line three has captured your imagination as well.

Yeah, a lot.

Because it doesn’t exist anymore.

Yeah.

Okay.

And then there’s line four.

Line four.

Oh, yeah, the purple line.

That’s right.

A tiny little one.

Yeah.

It’s really small.

It’s small.

I know.

It’s like a lot of money to make it because all of them are like ginormous stations.

All right.

But there’s lines.

Four there.

And then you can see already it’s a really, really small little dot.

All right.

Okay, man.

All right.

Just stops on line three and line four.

Okay.

Well, don’t waste all of this good stuff when we talk about the other lines.

Okay.

All right, man.
