I was talking to a contractor in Ottawa and they mentioned that during a careers fair for a civil contractor, one of the largest number of applicants were senior software engineers that had been without a job for over a year in some cases.
I knew this was our new shared reality, but can also see the winds of change for many (most?) industries.
