🍿Finished watching: Ted Lasso Season 4. This was exactly what I wanted from a follow-up season to the last arc. It had to be different but similar and that’s exactly what we got. I love the writing on this show and plan to use ‘Yes, and…’ a lot more in my life.

Blue Planet III. I have incredible core memories of watching this series in my house in Lebanon as a single man, before I began my transition into a husband and then father. Being able to sit here and watch this with both my sons hopefully will become another core memory for me. Also the song for this trailer is incredible. (Via KDO).

The Patience of Moving

Spent the weekend sorting the house. My room was a complete disaster. My clothes were everywhere. The backyard was a complete dumping ground. The living room was all over the place.

And yet. And yet as I sit here, I can look at multiple pockets of the house and find a lot of satisfaction in the fact that things are finding their place. The pile of ‘I need to decide where that goes’ is growing smaller and smaller. As is the list of ‘I need to find a solution for that’.

Once everything has a place, we can then start to add the flourish- plants, new artwork on the walls, backyard goodness.

It’s been a really long while since I’ve been super happy with the potential of a house I’m living in.

Woke up at 5:30am. I have no idea what time my body think it is, with my general circadian rhythms being thrown up all over the place.

There are a few things that I definitely want to do differently in the coming months. I’ve had enough time to decompress and let my whole world relax a little following a mega stressful period. Time to settle into a flow and make small but meaningful steps across my life.

Absolutely smashed. Yesterdays move was the absolute in brutality. Then today I had to finish off closing out the previous house. The cherry on top? Definitely the cold that Ryan has dragged into the house and gifted everyone in the family. Sooo annoying.

🍿 Finished watching: MOURINHO S1E1, Episode 1. Great watch, although I wish that they dove into things a little bit more. I feel like 3 episodes is tight to cover everything well.

Trying nasal strips for the first time. I have a deviated septum and so breathing through my nose has always been a challenge. Went for simple strips and see if it’s worth getting these regularly into my nighttime rotation.

🍿 Finished watching: GOAT. This was a great movie. The animation was unique, the characters were fun and the anthropomorphic nature gave me a glimpse of what a Blacksad movie could feel like.

📚 Finished reading: Tigana by Guy Gavriel Kay. This took me all summer to read. Started on my kindle but then finished it off in Libby (as an audiobook). Great book to lose yourself in. This is my first Kay book and while the context is fantasy, the nods and winks to historical places is great fun because it does a lot of the scene setting for you. Super clever writing device.

Less than a week to go before we move. Boxes are in the house now and we have done a lot of shedding (my favourite part of any move). In the new house I want us to be purposeful in our approach for bringing anything new into the house. So much possibilities, just need to try and not get overwhelmed by it all.

Zane got bit by one of those stupid wasps that swarm during September. Poor little guy’s calf muscle was double the size and red. Never see anything like it. Clearly a reaction, but it always seems to happen to him.

📚 Finished reading: Cannon by Lee Lai. Just finished reading this in a couple of sittings. I love slice of life. There are a bunch of these that Canadian writer/artists do really well. There were a couple of instances the dialogue pulled me out a little, but the pacing was great and the main characters rang true. Great read.

Damn. Got involved in a bit of road rage….entirely from the other side, over something that I know I was in the right of and he was totally over the top about a ‘perceived’ infraction. It went from 0 to 1000% instantly. I’ve heard that Canadians loose their fucking minds on the road…yup I can see that now. Super pleasant and civil outside of a vehicle. Inside or on one, and manners and civility go completely out the window.
